Art as a Tool for Healing: Artists for the Humanities

Third Thursday of every month

For years, veterans have participated in Return and Recovery sessions at the Norbertine Center for Spirituality in which expressive art has helped them share powerful personal stories with the support of other veterans and family members. This program expands the Return and Recovery Program for Military Veterans to include anyone experiencing stressful situations, such as caring for others or dealing with the loss of a loved one.

In expressive art, the focus is not on what is created; the focus is on the process of creating art and what it means to the person who produces it.

Timothy Mayer, resident artist and executive director of Artists for the Humanities, offers an expressive art class for adults experiencing stressful situations, such as caring for others or dealing with the loss of a loved one.

No art experience is necessary. All art materials are provided.

  • Facilitator: Timothy Mayer
  • Cost: No fee
