Cloister Art Gallery Exhibit: “Abbots, Accessories, Achievements”
Featuring various themed exhibitions throughout the year, the cloister art gallery is located near the entrance to the Norbertine Center for Spirituality and is open daily free of charge.
In keeping with our recent abbatial election, the mini-exhibit in the St. Norbert Abbey Cloister Art Gallery, Abbots, Accessories, Achievements, attempts to answer some of the questions frequently asked about Norbertine life and our abbatial structure:
- Who are we?
- How did we get here?
- How do we differ from other priests and vowed religious men?
- And what have we done to accomplish our goals and aspirations?
Part I summarizes our origins as a Catholic religious Order, by Fr. Robert Cornell, O. Praem. (d. 2009), and Fr. Theodore Antry, O. Praem. (of Daylesford Abbey).
Part II explains our abbatial structure.
Part III delineates our accomplishments: What achievements have our abbots and we made from the time of our founding as an abbey for our community—locally, nationally, and internationally?
