Faith and Film Series | The Queen of Katwe
In this 2016 film a 10-year-old girl and her family live in a constant struggle for survival in a slum in Kampala, Uganda. Her world changes when she is introduced to the game of chess. Issues of gender, education, poverty and social privilege intersect in this tale of survival. A showing of the film followed by discussion will be included.
