How to Talk to Uncle Bob During the Holidays

Let’s face it. Talk around the dinner table at the holidays can feel dangerous. We avoid certain topics with friends and family for fear the conversation will dissolve into a shouting match or end in hurt feelings. We may even remind our kids (and ourselves!) on the drive to Uncle Bob’s house, “Whatever you do, do NOT bring up [insert controversial issue here].” This program will offer concrete strategies for authentic dialogue about issues we care about. Let’s get ourselves prepared to eat, talk, and listen with grace around the table this season so we can say more than, “Please pass the stuffing.”
