Literature and Vocation: Sorting Through the Multiple Callings of Life

The poet Mary Oliver asks: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” A difficult question to be sure! In fact, our plans—our vocations—are often multiple and varied. In this session Deirdre Egan-Ryan, Ph.D., associate professor of Theology and Religious Studies at St. Norbert College, considers how poets, novelists, and playwrights tell stories of vocation from the perspectives of the young and not-so-young.
