Talley and Tor Abbeys
At the height of the Norbertine Order in the British Isles there were 67 abbeys; other than ruins, none of these abbeys exist today. Two abbeys whose remnants can be visited are Talley and Tor: a picture of contrasts. Talley is a very rural, sequestered, and peaceful setting, while Tor in Torquay was in the heart of a thriving city.
We will explore the history and contribution to the Church of these two abbeys, and highlight the multimedia museum depicting the life of medieval English Norbertines at Tor Abbey. Join us for the tour of a lifetime!
