The Conrad J. Kratz, O. Praem. Abbey Lecture Series: God, Evolution, and Human Progress
The emerging scientific view of evolution indicates that it is a process that can influence human behavior and be influenced by human behavior. This presentation, inspired by the writings of the French Jesuit and geologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955), will explore how this view of evolution can shape our spiritual lives and define a path forward for Christianity in the age of science. You do not need a doctorate to learn about evolution and religion–just an open mind!
David Poister, Ph.D., is a professor of Chemistry and Environmental Science at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin
where he has taught since 1995. In addition to his work as a scientist, David is interested in exploring how the
dialogue between science and religion can be used to understand and advance the human condition. David and his wife, Sara, have four children and live in De Pere.
