Visiting Mary: The History and Meaning of Marian Shrines
Karen Park, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at St. Norbert, has studied and visited many holy sites dedicated to Mary. She is interested in the various ways that people make and find meaning at these sites. From small roadside structures to major basilicas, Mary inspires people not just to pray to her, but to visit her in person. Join Dr. Park for an overview of the phenomenon of Marian shrines and a close look at several major Marian sites in the United States.
