November 18, 2021 Spirituality of Food and Meal Sharing
Nothing brings people together like food! Food figures abundantly in the Scriptures. Whether it is the psalmist declaring that the Lord “will set a table before me” (Ps 23) or Jesus feeding the 5,000 (Mt 15:32; Mk 8:1) or the Last Supper account (Lk 22:14), it is clear that feasting is a means of encountering one another and God. Sharing meals is intrinsic to the life of St. Norbert Abbey.
Thanksgiving offers the perfect opportunity to gather, share a meal, and express gratitude for all that we have been given. Join Chef Dan Froelich as he explores the meaning and spirituality behind gathering together at table; how it draws us into a deeper relationship with one another and God. Enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the abbey staff, and learn practical ways to make this Thanksgiving meal simple and memorable!
