Fr. James Baraniak, O. Praem., prior of St. Norbert Abbey and chaplain to the Green Bay Packers, was interviewed by “The Monday Morning Quarterback (MMQB)” about his unique variety of ministries in the article, “The Packers, the Prisoners and the Priest Who Unites Them.”
As chaplain, Fr. Baraniak ministers to the team both at home and on the road, celebrating a pre-game Mass each time.
But he also explained how this responsibility relates to his work at Green Bay Correctional Institution, ministering to inmates (and “die-hard Packer fans”) at the maximum-security prison.

“Cheeseheads” Fr. Rowland De Peaux, O. Praem. (90 years old), and Fr. Brendan McKeough, O. Praem. (94 years old), also reflected on their Packer memories for MMQB.

A “Packers Life” video containing interviews with Fr. Baraniak and Fr. McKeough about their time spent with the team and Vince Lombardi can be viewed online.
